Eli Gershkovitch puts Canada on the World Map for Craft Beer Production

There are fewer better ways to spend a weekend than with friends and a couple of beers. In addition to that, beers come in plenty of flavors and styles, and nowadays there is even a competition for beer brewers, the U.S. Open Beer Championships. In a recently concluded competition, Canada emerged as a winner in several categories, meaning it is starting to establish itself as a prominent beer producer.

Talented Canadian craft beer producers are working tirelessly to grow their country’s influence in the beer production industry. They do so by looking for newer barley breeds and lagers that other markets still hesitate to try out, or cannot yet access (Twitter).

Notable Canadian Craft Beers

One of the most notable craft beers in the market is the Red Racer Pale Ale, a product of Central City Brewing, located in British Columbia. This beer has gained fame for its use of bitter hops to preserve freshness. The beer gained, even more, recognition when the brewing company won the 2012 Canadian Brewing Award. Another notable drink is Quebec’s Gutenberg Belgian Double. This beer is manufactured under the careful leadership of Brasseurs Sans Gluten and is a gluten-free beer with a spicy and warm flavor.

About Eli Gershkovitch

One of the people whose efforts have been critical in putting Canada on the map as a beer producer is Eli Gershkovitch. He is the founder and CEO of Steamworks Group of Companies, a pioneer company in craft beer brewing.

Having previously worked providing liquor licenses, Eli Gershkovitch gained a lot of knowledge about permits that allowed him set up his first brewery. The first location for Eli’s brewery was a landmark building that had a steam heating system. Eli decided to use the steam system for energy, and that also had a hand in the name of the company.

With the Brewery opened in 1995, Eli Gershkovitch’s company was the first to introduce craft beer. With hard work and determination, Steamworks now has a wide range of products that are sold throughout Canada and in some other 14 American states (VancouverFoodster). Also, under Eli Gershkovitch’s leadership, Steamworks products have won various awards, including two Best BC Craft Beer awards for their pilsner product, as well as a Canadian Brewing Awards gold medal for their pumpkin ale.
